3/22/2012 - RECORDING ALMOST DONE-ZO
Hey folks! The Brutes are currently laying down the final ingredients of what will be our next recorded release. Engineer/producer/awesome gent Chad Wheeling has been mixing the tracks as we go, so already things are sounding pretty rad. So far it's a loose, wild and eclectic stew--- some tunes have been played live, others only in our secret band-cave. Soooo sit tight... or go have a cocktail, either way.
1/3/2011 - HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Thanks to everyone who partied with us at the Mpls Institute of Arts "Third Thursdays" event in December. Truly magical...
Coming up next we have a show at the new Amsterdam Bar and Hall in St Paul, and then straight into the studio as we embark on our next recording. The plan is to not take two years to finish the thing....yay!
12/10/2011 - THE BRUTES on MTV's "FRIENDZONE"
MTV has taken a shine to us again lately (if you've been following along you may know we had a tune included on the season one finale of "The Jersey Shore"). This time around we've been picked to click on their new reality show "Friendzone". It's a bittersweet little docu-series about teen lust and so forth, and I'm sure it will be a smash hit with everyone who's young and everyone who's trying to stay young. They even threw a photo of us up on their blog... gosh.

11/19/2011 - BACK FROM NYC... AGAIN.
The Brutes played two super shows at this year's CMJ Music Festival. We hit Spike Hill in Williamsburg with Communist Daughter and Me & My Arrow, along with The Rock Shop in Brooklyn with Pretty Good Dance Moves and BNLX. Both entirely fun.
We also had some mind-bendingly outstanding shojin cuisine at Kajitsu in the east village, cocktail misbehavior at some delightful Manhattan clubs, and heard some rockin' sets including a band that featured none other than drummer legend Anton Fier!
Alas, we are home in one piece, and taking a little break before our every-song-in-the-book double set at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts "Third Thursdays" party... check back.
9/19/2011 - THEATER MISADVENTURES / CMJ MUSIC FESTIVAL ON HORIZON
We're currently playing some random bon vivant sorts of shows around town including The Red Hot Art Festival and Freshwater Theater's after-show jam. Coming up in October we're heading out again to NYC for a couple CMJ joints. Quite excited about that! We'll be doing a kick-off show at Cause here in Mpls. See calendar.. .
8/1/2011 - TOUR OVER - MISSION ACCOMPLISHED
Thanks to everyone who made our east coast tour such a delight. It was great to meet some great bands such as The Bingers (Chicago), Mancie (NYC), Changing Modes (NYC), Lust 2 Love (Philadelphia), and Bella's Bartok (Boston).
